Sometimes You Don't Need a Big Trip
Not every photography adventure needs a passport, a week off work, or months of planning.
Mini Photo Adventures are focused photography experiences built around a single place and a single day. I pick somewhere I want to photograph, figure out when the light and conditions should be right, and open a handful of spots for photographers who want to come along.
Some might be close to home. Others might require a road trip, a flight, or a night in a hotel.
How you get there is up to you. We meet there and go photograph.
I'll plan the photography. You plan the journey.
Drive in that morning. Make a weekend out of it. Bring your partner and stay a few extra days. That's completely up to you.
Each Mini Photo Adventure has a designated meeting place and time. Once we're together, we'll spend the experience exploring and photographing the locations I've planned.

What a Mini Adventure Is Like
Shoot With Me
This isn't a photography class with everyone standing around while I lecture. I'll be photographing too. Ask questions, watch how I approach a scene, show me what you're working on, or just find your own composition and shoot.
The Location Is the Workshop
I do the scouting and planning ahead of time. We'll be where I think we have the best photographic opportunities at the right times instead of spending the day figuring out where to go.
Small Groups
Usually limited to 6 photographers.
Not 6–10 like the international tours. These should feel noticeably smaller and more personal.
All Experience Levels
You don't need to be an expert. You should know the basics of operating your camera, but I'll help when you need it.
What's Included
Included: The planned photography experience, location scouting, photographic guidance, and any photography permits required for the adventure.
Not included: Transportation to/from the meeting location, lodging, meals, park entrance fees unless specifically stated, and personal photography equipment.

Mini Photo Adventures are for photographers who would rather be outside making photographs than sitting in a classroom.
You might be an experienced landscape photographer looking for somewhere new to shoot. You might be learning and want to spend a day alongside other photographers. Or maybe you simply like going interesting places with a camera in your hand.
You don't need to photograph like me. You just need to want to go.
How It Works
I Pick the Adventure → You Reserve a Spot → Meet Me There → We Shoot
New Mini Photo Adventures will be announced throughout the year. Each one will have its own location, schedule, difficulty level, photographic opportunities and gear recommendations.
Because conditions matter, some adventures may also be built around seasons, celestial events, wildlife or other opportunities that only happen at particular times.
