Upper Gooseberry Falls on the north shore of Lake Superior. Took a short trip to northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.

I recently moved to the Sugarloaf area up the hill from Boulder. It's a wonderful community and I am getting more and more involved with the fire department. Come up and check out the craft fair tomorrow and see me at my booth. This a great way to support a local volunteer fire department.

Even if you are in the City of Boulder, remember this is the crew that will prevent a fire from getting to you. 😀

It was a lot of fun exploring the Southern Hemisphere sky.

Step Fin: last day in Santiago, Chile. Walked through markets, watched a mime, drank more pisco sours. ... Finished processing my eclipse image.

Two flights and we will be back home after a pretty much perfect trip. It's been fun sharing it with you.

Check out the sun spots. The sun is very active right now.

Chilean Rodeo in Casablanca Chile. We drove by and had to stop. It's much different than a rodeo in the US. It's all about team work and using the horse to control the cow humanely as possible. It took a little while to figure out the flow and the rules but it was fun to watch once we understood.

In exactly 1 month I'll be on Rapa Nui / Easter Island among the moai statues witnessing the next annular solar eclipse (Ring of Fire). So very excited to get the chance to photograph an eclipse in this magical, mysterious, ancient place.

Two of my images from last night's spectacular light show in Wyoming. The class 5 geomagnetic storm sparked off Aurora Borealis over much of the globe. This has not happened for 20 years. So glad I was able to drive to dark and clear skies.  The lights filled the sky all around us and pulsated in different colors. To the naked eye we could see the brightness and faint colors. The camera has the ability to expose the true colors.

The auroras were firing hard last night. Such an amazing time. These are just a couple early uploads. More to come.
